Campaign News

By Nancy Texeira 15 Nov, 2023
This week I am formally launching my campaign for the United States Senate. I am a father, a Veteran Navy pilot, and a proud member of the Florida community who raised me. I am also a husband who just celebrated 35 years of marriage. Yet within days of my announcement, the focus was not on my accomplishments or my background. Unfortunately, in what has become the new normal, the politics of personal destruction have already begun. Entering this race, I expected challenges, but I never anticipated the swift descent into the politics of personal destruction. It is disheartening that, within weeks of filing my candidacy, my family has become a target. It is also notable that the writer who launched these allegations did not speak to a single member of my family in order to gather facts. While I recognize that political publications may distort the truth about me, it is deeply disappointing when they extend their reach to misrepresent the words and actions of my ex-wife, a woman of accomplishment and strength. I refuse to remain silent while attempts are made to rewrite the story of two divorced parents who, despite challenges, came together to raise two incredible African American men. It is frustrating to witness the perpetuation of age-old stereotypes against Black men, insinuating that our accomplishments are somehow tainted or that we are prone to violence. This narrative is not new, and it’s disheartening to see that we still grapple with the same prejudices that have plagued our nation for decades. It has been fifteen years since President Obama was labeled as not really American, had his Ivy League achievements scrutinized, and was accused of “pallin’ around with terrorists”. It has been nearly seven decades since the whispers and accusations leveraged against a fourteen-year-old boy in Mississippi led to a mob torturing and lynching him. It is sad for us to still be at this place in our national discourse. As someone with the highest level of security clearance from the Department of Defense, clearance from the U.S. State Department, the United States Secret Service, and Scotland Yard, I want to reassure you that any credible issues from my past would have been discovered by now. I am proud of my family, our achievements, and the journey from Liberty City, Florida, to serving on missions for international dignitaries and our military. The attempts to overshadow decades of marriage and fifty years of experience are futile. I am the most experienced candidate in this race, a true Floridian, and with the support of millions from all walks of life, we will prevail. While some focus on tearing others down, my family, my team, and I remain committed to building up our great state and nation. As we face challenges, we will rise above, guided by the principle of “as they go low, we go high.” I look forward to seeing many of you on the campaign trail, where we will continue our work to create a Florida that represents the dreams and aspirations of all its residents. Thank you for your support, and let’s forge ahead together. Sincerely, Stanley Campbell

Stanley Campbell, Navy Pilot and Healthcare Technology Pioneer, is launching his campaign for United States Senate from the Florida Treasure Coast on Wednesday November 15. With news of his campaign breaking (LINK TO TCP ARTICLE) voters from across the state are already voicing their enthusiastic support. Dr. Raymond Dunn, a retired educator in Port St. Lucie, Florida, said that he feels Campbell will do things to improve the lives of youth. “I am an educator, retired, and I know he is a man of many talents and interests. He just excites me because I know he spends so much time with the youth and higher education.” It is an institution of higher education, Florida A&M University, where the first spark of the campaign was lit. Stanley and his wife Cheryl Campbell attended the FAMU Homecoming weekend with the intention of sharing his announcement with Stanley’s friends and fellow alumni. The news spread like wildfire. Stanley Campbell was welcomed on stage in front of tens of thousands of students at a local concert, hosted by Rattlers from around the country, and included in a parade through Tallahassee. Voters and supporters of all ages are also expressing a relief that Stanley Campbell is a formidable opponent to incumbent U.S. Senator, Rick Scott. Florida Democratic Party Chair, Nikki Fried, believes that Rick Scott can be defeated. “Rick Scott’s support from Floridians is underwater,” said Fried, “and it couldn’t be more clear why. Florida is in an economic crisis. Inflation is double the national average, and rent and property insurance are through the roof — but Rick Scott is championing his plan to take away your Social Security and Medicare, enact a national abortion ban and cut his own taxes at your expense. He is only looking out for one person — himself — not the people of Florida.” In contrast, Stanley Campbell says that he is running for Senate to make sure that the opportunities he had in his life and his career are available to all. “I can’t see my ten-year-old self becoming the man I am today given the challenges of education, immigration, business, a woman’s right to choose, voting rights, and unequal justice…I know who Florida is. I believe in its creed. And I believe in the creed of this great nation.” For more information or to get involved in the Stanley Campbell for U.S. Senate campaign, visit www.campbellforsenate.com/ .

Stanley Campbell, Navy Pilot and Healthcare Technology Pioneer, is launching his campaign for United States Senate from the Florida Treasure Coast on Wednesday November 15. Local business leaders will be hosting the launch event to formally announce his candidacy. The news of Stanley Campbell’s intention to run as Florida’s next U.S. Senator broke in October by a number of national publications including The Messenger, Vibe, and Yahoo News. Campbell is seeking to unseat Rick Scott, one of the key races the Democratic Party is targeting to change “from red to blue” in order to maintain control of the Senate. Campbell has been identified as a formidable opponent to the incumbent Senator, in part, because of the depth of his experience. After serving in the Navy as a pilot, Campbell commanded the Navy’s primary Airborne Communications Platform known as TACAMO. Campbell was later appointed by the Bush Administration to serve on the Executive Advisory Board for NASA. Campbell has also led a number of successful technology businesses, including EagleForce Associates which built technologies in the TSA passenger screening systems, as well as the Medicare fraud detection software that has prevented over $500 billion in healthcare fraud. As a native Floridian, Stanley built his life in nearly every corner of the state. He was born and raised in Miami, Florida and later earned a degree in Physics & Mathematics at Florida A&M University in Tallahassee. His military career brought him to Pensacola, Homestead, and the Tampa Bay area. He and his wife, Cheryl Campbell, currently reside in Palm City, Florida near the Martin Downs Golf Club purchased by Stanley in 2021. The Campbell name is well known to many in both Florida and the nation’s capital. Mrs. Campbell commutes to D.C. for her job as the Assistant Secretary of Administration for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services under President Biden. Stanley’s late father, Stanley Victor Campbell, moved from New York to Miami at the age of 18 and spent nearly seventy years as an advocate for public schools and unions. His late mother, Yvonne Campbell, was a hairdresser and community organizer who successfully organized local beauticians. And Stanley’s brother, Luther Campbell or “Uncle Luke”, is the rapper and Hip Hop icon who successfully battled the Supreme Court in a First Amendment case championing music free speech. Campbell says that he is running for Senate to make sure that the opportunities he had in his life and his career are available to all.
